What applicant information is needed to conduct an accurate background check?
The applicant will need to submit the following information over a secure dashboard.
- First Name and Last Name, correctly spelled;
- Date of Birth;
- Social Security Number (SSN);
- Address
Will Verify conduct pre-employment background checks without the knowledge of the applicant?
No. The Fair Credit Reporting Act requires permission and knowledge of the applicant.
What does a background check cost?
The cost depends on how extensive of a background check is require. Verify’s offers several packages that are cost effective. However, Verify can also customize a background check that meets your needs and can provide you with a no obligation quote.
How do I go about making payment?
Businesses conducting multiple background checks can pay by check or credit card. Once a relationship has been established with Verify, businesses will be invoiced bi-weekly or monthly depending on volume.
Individuals that want a background check done on them will be asked to submit payment prior to the background check being conducted. An electronic invoice will be generated and payment can be made via credit card. The background check will be initiated upon payment.
Are there any additional fees that I need to know about?
Most background checks will not incur any additional fees. However, a background check only covers the name that the social security name trace applies to. Sometimes the social security name trace will generate known aliases, which is most common when women get married. The social security name trace may produce both a married and maiden name. The applicant will have an opportunity to choose one or all names associated with the social security number. Additional fees will apply to all names chosen by the applicant when the consent form is checked.
Additionally, some jurisdictions like New York City charge additional administration fees for every name searched. While these jurisdictions are very limited some do exist.
Verify does not upcharge on the additional fees and will be passed to the customer dollar for dollar.
